Are you someone who takes action rather than waiting for something to happen and who doesn’t just talk about ideas, but wants to test them, shape them, and build something real?
START-UP LAB is a UCC evening programme designed for aspiring founders who want to seriously explore a start-up idea and test its potential. We are inviting applications from people actively working on a start-up idea with commercial, environmental, or social impact, and who have the ambition to work on that idea full-time in the future.
START-UP LAB is open to UCC Students, Staff and Alumni.
The programme will run for 7 consecutive Tuesday evenings between Tuesday 27 January and Tuesday 10 March for two hours each evening, 18.00 to 20.00. Each session will take place on campus at University College Cork - exact location tbc.
Each week we will provide specific guidance on the steps that you will take to develop your business model, provide you with an opportunity to present progress to experienced mentors and peers and work in small groups to address issues and overcome obstacles.
Grand Pitches: The Final Event with cash prizes
START-UP LAB finishes with The Grand Pitches, a high-energy final event where all participants pitch their start-up idea to an invited panel of experienced founders, investors, and industry experts. Cash prizes will be awarded on the night to recognise the most compelling ideas and strongest potential for impact.
To apply, simply answer a few short questions and upload a 60 sec video that:
a) explains your business idea and
b) why you deserve a place on the programme.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us: maevem@ucc.ie
Applications are open until Friday 23rd January, 12pm.
